My Review:
This was my first Tessa Bailey book and I was excited based on the hype surrounding her and the synopsis of this book. I thought the setting and the pairing seemed interesting and for the most part, I was right! I really loved the characters and the grumpy sunshine trope. The way they got together and the things they went through together were well done.
I will say, this book made completely skipping the spice hard. I didn’t like that a lot of their most important conversations happened at the most inappropriate times (if you know what I’m saying…) and the MMC had no self-control. I felt that was a little immature and didn’t add to the chemistry. I know that’s completely personal preference and I did love the relationship of the MCs and the plot of the rest of the book.

Wells: “You say that with a straight face from inside the presidential suite, belle? I already called ahead to the next place to make sure your room has the biggest bathtub.”

As they pass a group of reporters, one question he keeps getting asked is “Is she responsible for your comeback?” His response in his head is: Josephine was unequivocally responsible for his comeback. Two weeks ago, he was a corpse. He’s never expected to pick up another golf club as long as he lived. Now he had a beating pulse. A purpose. The potential revival of his career. His blood was flowing again. He had hope, because of Josephine.
