My Review:
This book is about our main character, Naomi, who recently ran away from her wedding to help her long-lost twin sister, who is up to no good, in Knockemout, Virginia. The town is pretty rough, where people often settle their problems with fist fights and a lot of beer.
Tina ends up taking off with Naomi’s car and money, leaving Naomi with an unexpected surprise: a niece she didn’t even know she had. Now, Naomi is stranded in strange town without a car, job, plan, or home, and now she's also got an 11-year-old niece who acts much older than her age to look after.
In Knockemout, where everyone knows everyone, Knox is most well known as being the town's biggest grump. And he isn’t interested in complicated women or romantic entanglements. But when Naomi’s world falls apart right in front of him, he feels he has to help her out. He planned to step back once she got back on her feet. But then things take a turn for the worse.
This was my first romance over 500 pages and I was so surprised! I thought that there was no way enough stuff would happen in that many pages that I wouldn't be bored but I was completely wrong. The small town romance vibes were perfect and the grumpy sunshine trope was done so well. I really liked the side characters and how they were weaved into the story as well. I really enjoyed the side plot of mystery and felt like it was pretty realistic. Even with the length, I felt like I got through it so fast because there was always something going on. It's a real page turner!
